Kroslak was born in Croatia in 1949, of Slovak parentage. He escaped Communism with his family in 1957, and spent four years in refugee camps in Italy before immigrating to the United States in 1961. He is the father of two sons and lives in Tampa, FL with his Italian wife.
A self-taught artist, Kroslak draws on difficult and joyous life experiences to create what is in his heart and soul. His artistic gift has always been a part of him.
His bold, controlled use of vibrant colors and forms are an outgrowth of his unique background. Kroslak has painted and sculpted his entire life.
His passion is for each viewer to achieve a sense of being the creator of the piece of art being seen. Every viewer is part of the creation of his works of art.
Kroslak invests a considerable amount of time in a group called Gala Corina: underground Tampa artists working to further the arts in the Tampa Bay area. This group was formed by 10 people having different artistic interests, but showing a passion for finding beauty, harmony, truth, and purity of expression in all forms of art.
